I have a set of the V's that I took of the luggage rack. I thought it looked stupid to have a V on a Road Glide. Still looking for something to cover the holes.
I ran into the same thing, but my concern was that the "V" were digging into the tops of my saddle bags. I asked dealership if these were warrantable and he said no. he said that MOCO did not say there was a problem so they will still suggest them on all detachable back rest they sell. IMHO they should only go with the hard bags since they open in the opposite direction as the leather bags.
Any way, this is what I did to keep my bag lids from being destroyed
and now I have two very nice emblems that are ofno use to me since I have chrome foot rest covers.
So anyone wanting these are welcome to them. All I ask is that YOU cover the postage.
PM me if interested
Andy:
I mailed them off today USPS.You should get them Thursday.
Don't worry about the postage, it was only 3 bucks. My gift to you.
If you feel like you have to pay something, then next time you go on a charity ride, donate it to them.
Enjoy
DZ
For covering the holes left on the plates, I bought the smallest chrome caps at Harley(the ones that you would put in a hex bolt). I think they were 1/4". I drilled out the holes slightly to accept these plugs and dabbed a bit of silicon and it looked perfect, just like a couple of chrome rivets.
