You say "They charged you....". No they gave you a price and you agreed. You had the option to say no and go elsewhere.
No in fact i was told shipping would be $40 and then when i get the package to my door after paying the shipping the UPS guy wants another $156 after i have already shelled out fo rhte shipping and the product price
You guys must be doing something wrongI shipped some parts into canada about six weeks ago and it only cost about $4 more than I was charging to ship in the USA.
Doesn't make sense!
That's wierd, some thingsIship UPS cost a little more not much but I have only had one problem. I had some SummitRacing items dropped on my front step and the box said SUMMIT RACING on the side. I thought, man someone could have see it and takin it. After that I requested it dropped at the back door. They always did...
I have a UPS office here so I use it often. Matter of fact i am shipping some crash bars out in the morning, UPS....
Sorry to hear!
even my dog hates UPS.....and the UPS guy is scared of my dog...the chase is on...run forest run...LOL...I laugh everytime they come to our street.....
I am in Canada as well. With the present exchange rate purchasing from the states can beattractive. However prior to ordering an item I verify that I want it shipped via USPS. If the supplier says that they are giong to use UPSI inform them that it's a deal breaker. I have paid as much as three time the purchase price ofan item to UPS for brokerage fees. UPS can bite me. Will NOT use them.[/align]
If you live close enough to the US-Canada border, you can set up a US mailing address and just drive down to pick the stuff up and pay duty (if any, plus the taxes) once you hit the border.
There's companies set up all along the border that cater to Canadians just because of the brokerage issue. Or as someone else mentioned, you can act as your own "broker". I've done the US adress bit and it works real well. I know guys that self broker the stuff and even though its a little more running around and ppwk, but it does work well.
