The braided cables the Road King Custom Irecently purchased are secured to the handlebar with black zip ties...is there another way to secure them that's easier on the eyes?...just doesn't seem to go with a bike like this...
They sell plastic chrome zipties. They also have various other aftermarket cable clamps for downtubes and such like in JP Cycles, Drag Specialties, etc.

They also sell SS ties on ebay, but I would go with the chrome plastic to avoid rubbing the cable to bad. They also sell cable clamps, which attach to the handlebars...Check ebay... just make sure you get the ones for the diameter of bar you have...
My cables on my 07 FLHRS are not secured to the bars. I have the HD Diamondback braided cables and the throttle cables are joined by the HD chrome throttle cable clip.
If you don't mind spending the money, search the web for custom cable mounts, there are all kinds. They usually have one diameter for your bars, frame, whatever, the other diameter is your cable, brake hose, etc. I just saw a bunch at a swap meet, they were pricey, but pretty cool. The ones I thought were neat were small skeleton hands holding the cables. Personally, I'd try to route without, my second option would be plain old wire ties. Just me, I'm not a fancy guy.
