Can someone tell what would keep these from fitting a Road Glide??? I cant think of any difference on the back that would keep them from working.

They will fit or they make the same thing for the RG. I think it's the color match that you have to watch out for. I have them on my 2000 Roadglide. The SE model came with them stock.

Probably because your RG does't come with the saddlebag guard rails that are on the EG, etc. so there is a bolt or two missing.

However, don't be deterred in installing them; the SE Ultras don't have the guard rails either but they come from the factory with color-matched filler strips.

EDIT: Or check the Road Glide SE parts books for the information (which Terry pointed out while I was typing.)

Stop by the Parts Counter and ask to take a look at a SE Ultra parts book for any of the bikes from '04 to now and it will show you what bolts, etc. you need.

HD is notorious for fitment information not being entirley accurate for the inventive owner. For example, until '07 or so there was no fitment information for using detachable tour pak racks on Electra Glides, but owners bought the racks and made them work easily by removing the chrome permanent TP rack.

Likewise, the fog lamp kit does not say it will fit RG's, but many guys put them on their RG's without problems on the newer models.

They make them for bikes without the guard rail and will fit a Road Glide.

I bought a set. The box said they won't fit with Road King Classic bags. They fit just fine. Sometimes HD's info is not so accurate.

They wont fit a stock road glide because of the antenna location. If you remount the antenna to the detachable bracket or move it under the fairing it will fit just fine. The back end of all FLT's are the same, its just the differt acc's that came on given models that change fitment on some parts!

Ida--nice catch on the antenna issue--the relocation kit from HD is PN 76208-07 (for relocating antenna on FLHX and FLTR) or mount an antenna inside the fairing.

Whenj my wife went to buy me the SG rear fascia for my rk custom, the parts manager came out and said it will not work on a rk custom, only the SG. Well, I am living proof that they do not always know what they are talking about. With some slight modification, I am sure it will work...
