We ordered 2008 FLHTCU which will arrive in El Paso in June 2008. We have asked the parts department regarding the removal of the detachable tour pack for our FLHTCU. We were told that there was not a detachable kit for the 2007-2008FLHTCU models. Do you know of anyone or anywhere where we can get an answer to this request?

Fits '97-later Road King®, FLHT, FLHX and FLTR models equipped with required docking hardware. FLTR and FLHX models require Antenna Relocation Kit P/N 76326-00A. Does not fit with Layback License Plate Mounting Kit P/N 53385-00. Some EU registration plates may interfere with Tour-Pak® Rack. Models wtih rear fender tip trim can be adapted with seperate purchase of License Plate Relocation Kit P/N 60095-00A.

 

The reason Harleys say they don't make a kit is because of the wires going into the TP. They don't have a waring harness for it that is quick disconnect. Buy the TP relocation kit for a Classic, buy the antenna relocation kit. Then buy some quick disconnects for the wires. You will have to slice in the wiring harness disconnect yourself

I move the antenna from the TP to the relocated mount each time I take off the TP

 

On another post I was quoted kit 53303-07 had all that was needed for an 08 Ultra????????? Now I'm confused..........

 

I have it on my 2007, don't know what any of you are talking about!
Relocated my antenna into the fairing, powered model. It works much better than a little one at the bumper.
I just have to plug in the tour pack lights and the rear speakers. There IS a plug for both.

This is not a difficult job and you shouldn't have to pay a dealer to do any of it. You will need the following parts:
53303-07 $329.95 MSRP Detachable our pack rack kit (comes with rack, docking hardware, antenna relocation kit and chrome license plate holder) or if you want to go with the antenna wire in the fairing you can use part # 53276-04 $179.95 with docking kit # 53804-06 $54.95 and buy yourself a laydown license plate holder part # 113 from Kuryakyn $39.99.

All the antenna's, tour pack lights and rear speakers can be disconnected and rolled up abd stored under the seat.

Yes, got a friend to come over and we installed it. Not really that hard. Certainly wouldn't pay a dealer alot of $$$$ to do that.

 

I read here that the dis-connect plugs for the speakers are "IN" the speaker pods.
Is that true (I haven't checked it yet) ?
I sort of looked for a dis-connect plug for the tour pack lights but haven't seen any.
Where is it located ?
