Default Painting/Matching 2012 Big Blue Pearl

My CVO rear fender kit is on its way with a quart of Big Blue Pearl and 8oz of urethane activator. I've talked to folks that know paint fairly well, and it was said that it may be pretty tough to match the rest of my bike. Am I assuming too much when assuming it will match the rest of the bike when using HD paint? I know very little about paint, know that this color is very "chunky", but that is about it. Has anyone else had something shot in this color? If so, any issues with match? Thanks.

My guy up here in NH did a great job matching my BBP. Did the inner, wrap around tourpack LED light frame and upper controls with no problems, so it can be done.

Not a great pic, but it gives an idea

It depends on how picky you are and how experienced the painter is. A talented painter should be able to get really close. Simply shooting the HD paint straight out of the can may not get it done.

Same experience on my RGU inter fairing paint job. Painter didn't use the HD BBP paint either. Did his own thing Can be done.

Thanks to all who have responded. I thought this would be easy, and unfortunately got concerned when I was told this would not be the case. I just have to find the right painter to get this done.

gja,

I'm thinking about doing a front fender for my BBP Street Glide, and another friend of mine is planning to repaint a bag, front and inner fairing, lowers and a tourpak in BBP. We both live in Southern NH, so if you wouldn't mind sharing a name or contact information of your painter, that would be most appreciated! Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer not to post it.

Thanks!

Ask your dealer who they use to do their paint work, I am sure they can give you someone familiar with Harley paints.

I had my inner fairing, lowers, and tour pak color matched to my RGC. I used H-D paint, activator, and clear sprayed over vivid black base. My painter had no problem matching everything.
