My check engine light came on Sat morning. Took the bike to the stealer even though it was out of warranty. The dealer checked the codes and said it was an old code having to do with compression of the rear cylinder, likely from a start up. They cleared the code. test ride and it came back. After an hour or so, they found a loose spark plug wire and that fixed the problem. They also said my my ECM needed the latest flash which they did. Another test ride and all was fine.

I went to pick up the invoice, I figured about $75, and the service guy "no charge and have a nice ride". I couldn't believe it. This is the same dealership that I've blasted several times for poor customer service. Maybe they have seen the light!

 

Yet another anti Choo-choo story is revealed.

 

Glad to hear a good story about a dealer for a change. I know there are lots of fine shops out there. Give them their proper due and give us their name. Maybe these dealers are tired of being trashed by their customers and are trying to change their image. If we support the good guys, maybe the bad ones will get the message.

You know, this is good to hear. All we usually hear is about the bad dealerships. I know the dealerships I have gone to have always been very fair with me.

 

Yes, I agree, if he treated you well, and your happy. TELL THE NAME! Just the same as if one ripps you off, and you want to try to protect someone else from them, most would tell!

Glad to hear one "Takes care of us" Because that sounds like more than 75.00 worth of work to me really!

My new 08 Ultra is having the light come on one day and then goes away
Been to the dealer several times
they are very nice, but still not fixed
One thing I found out is that when the light is on my cruise control does NOT work

 

I have gotten mixed results from the service dept --- their salesmen are great--parts department can be gruff at times --HOWEVER -- They have ALWAYS gone out there way to be helpful.

I have never had a problem with Stone Mountain HD (same owner) and even though it's further from my house I prefer to go there.
