Whats up with so many people hanging them up high? \\; I always heard its supposed to be at the lowest point on the bike.

I have mine connected with aircraft safety wire to the hinge on the hi-way peg.
As a side note: \\; When I had my wreck last year a mechanic at the dealer told me that all the wrecked bikes coming in seemed to have a bell on them, as did mine!
Maybe they don't work?
