The best thing I found for back, neck and arm hurts was a good fittin back rest.&nbsp\\; I had to that the stock unit and turn the base arround backwards and bolt it up then slightly bend the backrest bars.&nbsp\\; tnis gave me solid firm back support and that stopped everything else from hurtin.&nbsp\\; good luck man

don't wear a cheap heavy full face helmet,

don't ride without a back rest,

get the ol' lady to massage your neck while you ride,

take more breaks

I get a little pain between my shoulder blades when riding. I have had 5 people tell me it was the bars. Soon as the money is there I am definatly changing them.

Change/adjust out either the handlebars, backrest, seat, helmet, or some combination of the 4.

Might even find some adjustment of the floorboards and/or highway pegs could help also.

Every now and then after 5-6 hours in the saddle I will get a burning between my shoulder blades that can turn into wicked shoulder and neck pain...that is my reminder to adjust my mustang backrest a bit...when I do that it literally goes away in 10 minutes.

Finding a comfortable combo will work magic!

Used to ride a 88 and an 02 Goldwing.&nbsp\\; My neck felt like someone was stabbing with a knife.&nbsp\\; Right at the base of my neck kinda towards the left.&nbsp\\; Some of the reasons I have heard are heavy helmet...Bars in the wrong position....no backrest ( I had one on bth wings ) ...gripping the bars to tight ( without realizing it ).&nbsp\\;
Well I bought a new 07 Ultra last year and no more neck pain. 20,000 miles on the clock in one year and pain free.&nbsp\\; Something must have changed.

No helmet. Have the backrest tried it with and without up and down forward and back no diff. Old lady on back massaging helps for a bit... seat is eeehhh my suzuki intruder was way better fit. the harley one slides me down to a slouch , cant seem to stay in the pocket. Was thinking of changing the bars but had no ideas on what ones and if anyone had done this with success.

Sounds like a combination of seat and bars. I have had the same problem riding sporsters with forward controls. 08 RK cured a lot of that.

I changed to these bars due to a shoulder problem....it helped me. I didn't need to change any lines or cables, just re-route the clutch cable.
