I have been trying to talk the wife into taking a road trip since I bought the Ultra but she always has an excuse. Well, I finally got my way. Our youngest son was in Virgina for a week with his Boy Scouts troop doing some white water rafting and I got her to ride down to see him. We left Aberdeen MD at 5:30 am on wed. and had a beautiful ride down. 425 miles down and I was a little worried about my back before we left but let me tell you I felt great. Found the Scout camp and went in but they were out rafting so we left him a note and went and found a motel. Had a real nice dinner and spent some time in the hotel hot tub. Got up the next morning and went back to the camp, found the boys doing High COPE which is wall climbing and some repelling. We stayed a little while watching and it was calling for rain so we got on our way back home. Hit some rain coming up Rt. 81 in VA for about 2 hours but the Ultra never missed a beat and she never complained once. We rode over 800 miles in two days (not bad for our first time out). I know it was a long trip for our short visit but I wanted to go mainly for the ride and it was a good reason for her to go. I am ready to go again but no time right now. My son and I leave for Key West FL on Friday morning for a week of snorkeling and sailing with the Scouts. No bike riding but we should have a blast I cant wait for him and I to take a couple days off and go for a ride. Sorry this is so long. Just wanted to share.
Great ride report. That's what Ultras do best. My favorite is when we've been rolling for a while and the wife says, "I guess I fell asleep, where are we?"

MY son said he has fallen asleep back there. I know he read his book alot and lays back with his IPOD in his ears.
Aw man, that's what Ultras are all about. It's amazing how 4 or 5 hrs on the Ultra is so different than spending that amount of time in a cage. Great report.
