Road Glide Or Street Glide For A Short Person
Do you think the Road Glide or Street Glide is a better fit for a shorter person ??? My dealer thinks the Road Glide is a taller persons bike. I know the Street Glide already comes lowered but you can lower any bike. I am trying to decide between a 2009 SE Road Glide or a Street Glide. I am 5Ft 5In tall. Have have had 3 softails but never a touring bike.
THANKS

Im 5'5", with a 30 inch inseam. Hard to be much shorter than that.
The street glide and the road glide have the same frame, so you can get the same seat. My buddy has a road glide, same year as my SG, and i think the seats are pretty close. the ergo's on the road glide are a bit more for taller people, as the stereo is further away on the top of the shark nose faring. Sit on both and thats the only difference I can see.
Get a harley reach seat, or a custom seat and you wont have any problems. I dont, and I ride a ton. Boots help too.

I'm 5'5 with an inseam, (when in my younger days) of 29 inches. I'm riding a new to me 98 RG. Have had a bit of a problem with the reach as stated, towards the front accessories. Am also now wearing boots to give my legs a little boost from the seat. Seat is also reach type and, bike has been lowered. I feel that a longer handlebar would help me a lot. In practicing in the parking lots, while making left hand turns and sweeps, the right grip is way out over the bike making me have to reach too far out to control the throttle. It takes a little getting used to but, the RG is worth it in my opinion. The key to any bike handeling is still technique and familiarity. And, practice.

I'm 6'2" 295 lbs. rode my friends 08 SG and felt like "cramped". My RG fits like a glove. I believe that the SG is a much better choice for the smaller framed rider, but anything can be made to fit. Seems with the RG you either love or hate the frame mounted fairing. I find the RG to ride and steer alot smoother especially on a windy day when the Bat Wig fairing on the SG is suffering from wind buffeting. My 2 cents..........for what it is worth.

05 RG with a reach seat... I'm 5ft 8in with 29 inch inseam. except for the on/off switch, all controls are on the handlebar. ONLY you can decide which fits you. Sit on each, and if possible road test each. The RG can be lowered, but not very much of the 09.
For ME.... the RG is like having no fairing... it's way over there, and I don't feel closed in, I felt cramped with the various batwing fairings. but that's ME... and after 35 years of riding with never having, or wanting a windshield, The RG suits me just fine. Some folks don't like feeling the wind
