What is the fix? Pain between shoulder blades and base of the neck.

Just finished 2500 miler, no pain. In fact I never have that problem. Three keys to riding comfortable. 1. The right handlebars, 2. The right seat, and 3. A good back rest for your seat. After years and years of riding, you can zero in on these without much problem. For me, it's Wildone 1 1/4" pull backs, Corbin dual tourer, with Corbin backrest. There are thousands of combinations, you just need to find the one that's right for you. A good start is to sit on other bikes, and then ride your friends bikes with different options. You'll find it, don't settle for the pain, it ruins the whole experience. Good luck, CCRyder

I'd check the backrest idea, see if you have a friend who will let you try it. It will hold your posture better. I've had 6 back surgeries and for me it took SE Bars (pulled back just a bit), a custom seat, and the backrest. I've ridden over 600 miles since Sunday afternoon... not an iron butt ride, but pretty good for a 57 year old who is wired together and told he might not walk again...

Pain when riding
As a couple people have mentioned, handlebars and seat for the most part. A little regular exercise does wonders also. You don't have to join a gym and go nuts just go for a walk on a regular basis,or ride a bicycle but do something especially if you have a job where you just sit all day. Look at it this way the better you feel the more you can enjoy your HD !!
