Just got back last night from my annual road trip. Three of us went, my buddy on his 32 year old Honda 750 that has never so more than a valve adjustment (oh that my RK will last that long) and another friend on his Heritage.
This year took us from Ottawa, Ontario down through West Virginia and into Kentucky. Six days, 2200 miles and less than 100 of that on an interstate. Explored multiple back roads from Pennsylvania to Kentucky. I tell you if I were ever to be restricted to riding in one place let that place be West Virginia!!! Nothing more fun than being on roads that are as smooth as glass and where you can never see more than 1000 ft. down the road. Up down 25 mph corners by the boatload. I pretty much toasted a set of brake pads (the Road King can hustle through corners with copious amounts of throttle and brakes).
My new Mustang seat was just the ticket for the 350 mile days and the bike ran like a champ. Didn't use a drop of oil and got over 50 miles per gallon (40 per American Gallon).
A great time and would do it all over again tomorrow.
