I made a nice mount for a friend's Ultra.
First I drilled and threaded the suction cup mount on a drill press to accept a screw from the windshield side. I drilled well past the cup and into the solid parts of the mounting hardware.
Next I drilled the windshield in the center and countersunk the hole.
I placed a screw through the windshield and into the mount. Leaving the suction cup in place, it helped to stabilize the mount and cushion it a bit.
Last touch was to buy a self stick HD emblem from the P&A book (any one you like) and carefully arc it to match the curve of the windshield. This was placed over the countersunk screw on the front of the windshield. Very clean and the owner is thrilled.

Pretty nice set-up if you like windshield bags.
