Green Harleys what say you?
I currently have a 2020 Road Glide in Vivid Black and am on the hunt for a 2nd Harley. I think I want a 2015 Breakout. Something bright, loud, raw and fast bordering on obnoxious. The one I found is at a shop in town at a fair price with lots of tasteful accruements. Its Radioactive Green in color and its growing on me. I heard green is an unlucky color on a bike and I even said out loud before I would NEVER buy a green HD. Well now I may and I am wondering if the hate for green is real and possibly get rocks hucked at me and what not?. .lol,. Anyhow unless I stumble onto a local Rock Candy Quick Silver nicely equipped reasonably priced low mileage one I may make a run at this 4k mile green one soon. Every time I say "never" something happens. Anyhow how does green grab ya?.. thanks

The bad luck superstition, in short, comes from WWII and soldiers on green HD's delivering messages not having the greatest life expectancy. They were supposedly targeted heavily by German snipers.
With that said, I don't believe in superstitions and such. There are great/terrible riders on all sorts of different colored bikes. If it makes you tingle, then go for it!

Mean Green Machines
We put 48k miles on our first green motorcycle. It was a 2017 CVO in Spiked Olive. One of the prettiest and most complimented bikes we have owned.
Now we also own a 21 SGS in Snake Venom. It’s a totally different green with the hint of Purple in the light.
I love the Radioactive Green. We did a poker run a few years back to Myrtle Beach and there was a guy with that Breakout. He had apes and a tall sissy bar and it changed the entire look of the bike. I thought it was really cool, both the look and color.

Personally my color is red. When I saw the 02 Wide Glide in the showroom, I had to have it. It is all chromed out and I did literally no mods for almost 6 years until I installed an engine guard. I stopped there and have done nothing since.
So when I decided to purchase a late model Heritage, I was "stuck" with a very limited selection of colors - compared to the older ones. Yeah you can get custom paintwork done, but it's almost like pissing away $1500-2k just to prove a point. The other thing was, I made my purchase before the all-chrome 114s were released in 2022. Oh well. I have gotten used to the black/chrome mix. I still have the red bike for when I need to make noise and feel the rumble.
So to be different I chose the Kinetic Green. It was different and had the heavy breaker on it. While it didn't seriously speak to me like the red one, I liked it and it was different from the pack. In fact I drove two hours on a snowy day to see it and make the purchase. I did some back-research on here and there were a lot of haters of that color when it came out in 19. I think one guy said the yellow trim was like a 5-year old had been given a paint brush. Bastard, now I can't un-see that LOL But I have had nothing but positive comments everywhere I go. Except for my wife's 21 in Blackjack (which is actually black metallic), I never have once heard anyone say, "oh look at that black paint!" Sorry, I am not a black paint hater, I just find it amusing the limited number of colors HD puts out and everyone just seems to gravitate to the black.
