Default Just installed my Minibeast 5 air horn w pics

Got a letter from Mike at The Pro Pad last month about a trade in offer on my MiniBeast (original) air horn. $100 to trade in any registered Minibeast. Coincidentially the bracket that held the plastic cover in place had just broken, so I called him and took him up on the offer. Today Brown brought me a brand spankin new Minibeast 5. It has a much better case than the original one I had. Made of cast aluminum and finished in black wrinkle with raw aluminum fins. Matches the jugs pretty well me thinks. LOUDER than the original too! Cost $89.00 w broken horn in trade plus shipping which was about $10. If you have an old one may be worth calling him EVEN IF YOU DID NOT register if you're interested in a new one. They have made some serious improvements to the case/cover.
First thing I noticed is they mounted the horn relay INSIDE the cover so you only have to run one wire (HOT) to the battery. made installation a snap. Unplug two wires, plug two wires in, run fused leade to battery and connect to Positive terminal.
Here is the original on my bike. I've had this horn about 4 years on 3 different bikes!

The new horn in the box

Remove old horn

09 and 2010 bikes have a neat little channel that you can slip wiring through to easily get to the battery box. it is right behind the heat deflector.

Hook one wire to positive terminal

Mount the horn on the HD original stud.

20 minutes, start to finish and I am not mechanical at all!
Everybody's sleeping now so I'll post a short video back here in the morning with the sound! All in all I have been real happy with the Mini Beast, but I really like the look of this one better!

Looks good Mike. And not a bad deal on the trade-in.

Thats what I thought. I paid about the same, maybe $114 shipped 4 years ago, so I figured I was getting back almost the same amount I paid and the new one is definitely worth $89! It was a no brainer kinda...

Looks fantastic!! Whenever you get a chance, could you please take a pic of the whole bike from that side so I can see how those lines on the new horn cover flow? THanks Mike for the info and pics.

Looks much better than the square Mini Beast, but personally, I'd prefer the fins to be as thin as the cylinder fins. Just my opinion.
I'm still wondering why someone doesn't offer a slightly bigger chrome cowbell to completely hide a compact air horn like the Stebel Nautilus. I'd like to keep my cowbell, it's kind of a HD "trademark".
