Talking

The girls are going for the color. It's like bling to them. I am not against black, I had 3 of them before going the color route.Just a personal choice

Why upgrade to a 2009 H-D touring model?
There are too many updates to the 2009 Harley-Davidson touring models to list. If you own a 2003 through 2008 model the 2009 lineup deserves serious consideration. Here are some key improvements:

All-new frame
4-Point engine isolation system
Swingarm with forged pivot section
Re-tuned suspension
Increased passenger room
17” front wheel (except the Road King Classic)
Improved ground clearance allows increased lean angles
70 lbs. more total carrying capacity
Re-designed Isolation Drive System
I didn't say there was anything wrong with the 2009 RK, just the color of the Big Purple Flake. I think the improvements they have made for the most part are for the better, I'm not a big fan of the throttle by wire. I have tried it and still like the cables better. I am friends with a lot of the guys at the local HD dealerships and I went around asking them who liked the color. I found 2 people out of about 20 that thought it was just okay. I don't know if it is an age thing or a macho thing but I'm 33 and would never consider dropping 20 grand on a stock purple bike, unless it was some kind of custom job, especially when there are way better colors out there. If you like it buy it, to each his own. I'm not bashing you guys for liking it. I'm bashing Harley for making it. Maybe for 2010 they will come out with a pink one.

While we were looking at the 2010 color chart, my wife mentioned, "Why is Harley coloring everything purple?"

Blue ice, black ice, etc....

I've got a pewter pearl flhrc, and threw some hard bags on it... but that color combo sounds SWEET! Then again, I am the ultimate malcontent, and always want something other than what I have. Sigh... economy... pick up!!

Default No, I waited for mine as well!

I have wanted a purple H-D for several years. I saw the Big Purple Flake in Sturgis 2008. When I got back to Santa Fe, I went and talked to them about getting mine ( I am on the 10 year plan - get a new H-D every 10 years ). Anyway I wanted 10 months for mine! Worth the wait!
