Changing led colors on stock gauges
#71
I had already changed my gauges from yellow to red, so needed to do something. I watched all the vids on YouTube on opening up the tach and speedo, plus all the ones I could find on soldering the million led's. When all was said and done, I spent $85 with Marty at gaugeledmods.com and am happy.

After reading through all the modifications (and doing quite a few of them lol) decided to do the leds in the tac/speedo. Ordered from superbrite leds for the 4 smaller gauges and sent the speed/tac to GaugeModZ in michigan. The funny thing is, he's only about an hour away from where we used to live lol Could have had them done years ago and it would've been much easier and maybe even had a beer together.

Now, to get the chrome ring to seat back on, once it's on, use a junk CD or unused CDR that you can throw away and put that on the face of the gauge and use a plyers and go around and crimp the chrome ring back to being tight. AND YOUR DONE! It looks beautiful! And it was cheap.]

I ordered this kit from the Internet to change my stock orange guage color to red on my 2009 FLHX Street Glide. I have received the LED's but I don't feel they are correct.. Before I go through the pain staking task of disassembling the gauges, I want to be sure. Has anybody taken apart the Speedometer & the Tachometer and taken pictures of the circuit board? I would like to see them. Better yet has anyone already taken on this task. I know I can solder the LED's myself, looking to save some money, but get that custom look. THANKS
