(did the custom come with passenger floorboards or pegs?)
Very nice and comfy and good looking pegs to go with the overall clean look.

i own a 2005 Road King Custom with 42,000 miles on it. it came form the factory with cruise on it and i wouldn't take nothing for it. its the best riding bike i have rode. and it rides just fine 2 up on a look trip.

I'd like to mention something else. If your comparing a 2007 RK Custom with a new 2009 RK Classic it's really a no brainer due to the chassis changes on the newer model. I'm sure any other 2009 owner will confirm this. If you were to get a '09 RK Standard or Classic, with only a few modifications, you can easily put togeather a 2009 Custom......Rich

I like the RKC better. More of a retro look and some a few more std features.

I liked the custom, but bought a classic. Bigger bags, windshield, cruise control, pass floorboards, passing lights, laced wheels, just thought you got more for the money of what I would have added later anyway.

If you decide on the classic, I'd take the RK standard instead though and start with the hard bags. Just my $.02 Either way two great bikes.

Is there any great suspension differences between the two bikes?

I have to say, the wealth of information in these forums is incredible...you guys are great!
Yes, the HD cruise can be installed on the RK Custom. List price is $339 and it's a DIY project.

The RK Custom has 1" shorter rear shocks than the Classic--only suspension difference.

Thumbs up

I would like to cast my vote toward the Road King Classic. Plenty of used bikes on the market and new bikes are selling slow, so you should be good shape to orchestrate a good deal.

I really don't think you can go wrong either way.

My only real issue between the two is the beach bars on the custom, to me anyway, were not as comfortable. You can change anything, though....
