Well I think I'm ready to tackle that project myself. Thanks for the instructions. I found that as soon as I hit around 40mph my speakers are not any good. If I turn it up they fuzz out and if it is at an except-able clarity, I cant hear it.

New to the site and I have to say that with the instructions you guys put out on this site makes me very confident to do the job myself and save $$.

Great job.

I have got the biketronics setup with Tweeter pod ,hogtunes fr speakers and amp.I think the amp is 35 watts,Anyways I would like a bit more and am thinking of adding the Titan hertz 6.5 in speakers. Are they that much more efficient than the hogtunes?

Any help on my BT1000, installed the biktronics radio kit except for the amp, and fairing speakers, I can't get the handlebar controls to work, my new sony mex3700 will work with the remote controls or the radio controls, any advice, I've placed the black plug-in cable with the cable going straight up, then, wired tied it, still no handlebar controls.

Called Biketronics this afternoon, went over several issues, with them, they said if it doesn't work, call back, well I did, went to voice mail, the message said they will call right back, well, no call back, called later this afternoon, before closing time, phone went to voice mail again, left another message, guess I'll have to wait for the return call now,
I thought these guys were on top of things?

Problem is whenever i have the volume more than 1/2 way up stereo shuts off power to speakers. the stereo itself still has display on but no sound. if i turn bike off & back on speakers work again. Finally heard back from Biketronics, two days later. they are going to send a new BT1000, this still puts me a week behind finishing my project.
I'm glad they are doing so well bidness wise, but customer support is a little slow.
Like many small businesses Biketronics is keeping down their overhead to pay for the government healthcare.

Used this review to install my 8 speaker Hogtunes system. Alot better than the factory manuals, which are still good, just nicer to have alot more pictures.
Thanks alot for the write up, helped me huge!

When I did my set up I wired both the amp and the Sirius direct to battery with a fuse at the battery. I have noticed this spring that anytime the bike sits more than a week the battery is dead or way down.

I had to switch both (amp/Sirius) to a hot wire tied to the accessorie switch position on the master. Porblem solved. One or the other must have been pulling too much power when not in use. Just a FYI. EW

What about the Hawg Wired system? Is it any better than the Hogtunes?
