fork lock doesn't engage

I read the instructions on how to remove and install ignition switch after i did it wrong. Now everything works except my fork lock. I can't figure this one out. Please help. Thanks.

Its an 06 streetglide.

You may have to finagle the tumblers with a flatblade screwdriver if you got one of the tumblers in the wrong position, or use the ignition alignment tool.

i tried the screwdrive, its all lined up, it turns, but no fork lock. I'm puzzled. It will turn to acc, run off, lock( no actual lock though).

Take your ignition tumbler out and turn your forks hard left lock. Now put the screwdriver all the way in. Turn the screwdriver hard left this will put the steering lock on. Now turn the top tumbler until the ignition drops in. This will restore you steering lock

That isn't working. I can get the tumbler to do everything else, but engage fork lock. This frustrates me. I'll try to pop it in again, but it all fits together perfectly.

ok. if it was in wrong, would the tumbler be able to be inserted all the way in and work? I'm trying anything.

still no luck. Ican't figure this out. If I can put the tumbler back in and turn it to run and get it to work, it has to be in the right position. I still can't lock the fork. This may reqiure a trip to the shop.

Check the wires

I had the same problem on my RK. Everything worked except the fork lock. Turns out the fork wasn't turning all the way to the left due to a couple of wires hanging it up. Tied them up out of the way and fork turned completely allowing the tumblers to engage.

I'll pull the outer fairing and check it out. It appeared the fork was turned, but a look under neath revealed the lock was not lining up. But i can still remove the key, and it stays in lock, but the actual lock is not engaging. I'll look behind fairing.
Thanks, wish me luck.

That's what it sounds like to me too, that maybe the fork just isn't turned far enough to catch.
