I progress. I started out on a pan head Electra Glide in blue in 1961 and finished on a 1500cc BMW. I've had them all over the years, even Honda's and Yamaha FZR 1000. Most of the riders I see are military, that is why the comment about "ten". Not implying at all that I don't value the opinions expressed here or the level of experience.

Had it not been for the evolution motor we would all be riding Hondas and Kawasakis now.
Willie G knew that too and so came up with the evolution motor, pitched it to investors and got the cash together and bought back his families business from AMF who did not have a clue.
The evolution motor is THE REASON why the resurgence in Harley Davidson.
And that is your history lesson for today.
RIP leohd.

...nothing.
I rode an '96 EVO for 100,000+ miles with no problems.
Bought a Twin Cam in '14 and in 15,000 miles it
started knocking so bad that I took it to the dealer for work.
Just traded that sucker for a '15 Ultra Twin Cam and rode it
for 20,000 miles before trading for an M8..........
