I have a friend that is somewhat vertically challenged (short in case you missed that). He just purchased a 09 Street Glide and cannot place his feet flat on the ground when stopped, he actually has trouble with tip-toeing it. Is there a seat or other modifications that can be made to assist with this? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
First, have him get a good pair of riding boots and have an extra 1/2 inch sole put on them. The seat can be reshaped, cut down where he sets, it will help. Just a bit of warning not all people are happy with having a seat cut down, me for one. I bought a new take off seat, sent it to a well known place to have it reshaped and after 1000 miles I took it off and pit the stock one back on. What a piece of crap. The jell pack or what ever they use balled up in the middle. When I called to ask questions and complain, their answer was, we have that happen from time to time??? In all I spent over $600 for a modified seat that is totally useless. I was going to give it to a friend use it and he didn't like it either. So, my suggestion is look at a lot of seats and see what fits.

Have the seat sent to Mean City Cycles ( forum sponsor) They can do pretty much what you want with the seat. The biggest problem for short legs on the street glide is the width. I had mine lowered 1" and narrowed and inch on each side. Made all the difference in the world and it looks killer, too. I have a mustang solo which drops you down some, but I prefer the comfort and looks of the reworked stocker.
A search here will bring alot of info on this subject.
moco makes a "low" seat that is lower and narrow between thighs, it helps alot. also ck e bay motors for quality rear suspension lowering kits, about 50 bucks. have your friend eat his wheaties, i heard it helps you grow longer legs. my bad

Thanks for all the informative feedback from everyone.
Is there a person on this forum that sells the lowering kit?
Yes, there are methods of getting the seat height lowered...and either changing the seat (to a lower & narrower profile) and a lowering kit....Which ever works...or perhaps maybe even both will suffice. Any way he chooses to go .... It would be highly recommended that he do something ... The tippitoe thing, is just asking for trouble.
The 09 street glides have the worst designed seat on any harley. The passenger section is just too thin and if you push down on it you can feel the pop rivet that holds the rear mounting tab on. The driver's section of the seat is just too wide and too flat where your legs go down. Narrowing this section of the seat helps more than lowering because the lower you go the wider the seat gets. I would recommend getting a 08 SG seat for it, 1/2" narrower and its just a better seat all around. All of the 09 seats are based off the same seat pan design but the RK, RG and EG/Ultra seats are the better of the 09 seats but the 08 seats which will work on the 09's and are much better seats.
