Default touring seat fittment 07 to 08 (flhx)

was wondering why a seat off an 07 touring model specifically a street glide will not fit or the factory says it won't fit? didn't think there was any differance from 07 to 08 as far as that was concerned? any help would be appreciated.....Thanks

Bigger tank, and they reversed the mounting tab.

07 prior had the tab on the seat that fit into a slot on the bike.

08 later have the tab on the bike that fits into a slot on the seat.

my corbin from my 01 fits to my satisfaction on my 09 after i removed the tab from the seat. the passenger strap and rear screw hold the seat pretty snug for the past 1600 miles. it doesn't cover as much of the rear of the tank as the stock 09 seat but isn't noticeable.

FlyingAce gets the prize: the front mounting bracket on the '08s is different than the '07s. The '07 seats have a tab that fits into a slot on the frame. The '08s are exactly the opposite: the seat has the slot, and the frame has the tab.

and then they went and changed them again because of the different frame in 09 so those of us who own 08's can only use seats for 08's.
