Oil Level and Temperature Dipstick with Lighted LCD Readout - Black
#21
Temp on mine appears accurate, oil level will vary with the winds though. I'm at a gas stop it reads low. Ride over to a buddys check it again it's high, ride home it's low. Pull it out and check it the way I SHOULD have been all along and it's a hair below full. I don't trust it anymore.

My '07 Softail had one when I bought it from the original owner.
The instructions for it are pretty detailed and must be followed to get accurate readings. Mine worked fine for the short time I used it. I did some research on the boards when I first had it and found mixed reviews. Just like you're seeing here.
I liked the analog one that I had on my '07 Sporty. Much quicker and easier to read.
So I got the analog for the Softail.

I have one on my 07 Ultra but never trusted it so I bought a McEwen temp guage for the dash. Really hated to replace that air temp guage but one had to go,,LOL... I have found that the chrome oil temp dipstick is within 5 degrees of the McEwen guage. I put the sending for my McEwen in the oil pan... Still use the old guage to check my oil....
