Default Tested a Rocket 3 Touring bike today..

Did a test ride on an 08 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring bike today. These are tuned down a bit to 107 HP and 154 lbs of torque (the standard R3 has 140hp, 147 lbs torque.) It was faster and pulled harder than anything I'v personally ridden, Twist the throttle at 70 mph and it sets you back but starts to vibrate more than a little bit. Handles well but not nearly as agile as my EGC at slow speeds. Fit and finish were OK, bout like a metric..the motor is something you either like or hate I think. They do a good job of stuffing it ( 2300cc inline 3 ) under the frame but when all is said and done I'll keep the EG. Wouldn't be bad as a second bike though. Heres a link to a pic for those that haven't heard of this beast..

Nice looking bike...Like you tho I'll stick with my King for two reasons 1. It's payed for and 2. it's probably a more comfortable ride.

be nice if GREEDY HD came out with a 2300cc motor with 154# of torque
but they would rather have honda, triumph and all the others be better.

Ya know I sold a Honda 1100 shadow sabre that would eat my EG Classic alive.. Why ? I always wanted a Harley and no I dont miss the honda a bit.. Before that I had a kawasaki voyager 4 cylinder inline and talk about a runner .... Ill keep the glide... And harley knows what sells ...

+1. My first bike after a 10-year non-riding period was a Honda Sabre 1100. It was a quick bike and really smooth but not big enough. Went to a Kawasaki 2000cc LT that was a BEAST! Tons of power, bigger then he11 and handled acceptably but the Harley bug kept knawing at me. Wouldn't trade either of my HDs for anything else. there's just nothing else like them!!!!!

Some things in this life I'd like to have. However a 105 HP touring bike is not one of them. Hard to enjoy the scenery at 110 MPH.

It rode pretty good, but the handlebars are a bit wide at 39" I would want them up and back a bit. Sits about as high as the HD touring bikes.
