Default Detachable tour pack kit 53246-09A versus 53246-09B

Anyone know what the difference between the two kits are? I can't find anything online.

53246-09A and 53246-09B

The "B" number is a revision.
Not sure what might have been revised though.

Thanks. Just spoke with the dealer and they didn't know what the revision was either but they were still carrying the A number. Either can be used on my bike.

Regardless of what the revision is I would personally buy the most current iteration. HD certainly did not revise the item "down".

Basically, a revision is an improvement.

Doing a few searches, and it seems most places are out of stock of the "A" number.
But the "B" easy to get.

One place even listed that the A number has been superseded by the B number.

They improved it for a reason for sure.

Basically, a revision is just a price increase...

Default A vs B

I've not found the difference either, all the parts seem to be the same. The revision could be something as simple as an addendum to the installation instructions.

The -B could also be a change of original supplier, there is no easy way of knowing!
