Question Saddlebag Fringe

I finally decided to get serious about getting saddlebag fringe for around my saddlebags and stuff and checked ebay for some cheap fringe instead of $220 in J&P's.
Anyways looking at the few different listings I've found some make it seems like you HAVE to have the saddlebag side rails in order to make it work but I've seen one or two that say stock saddlebag supports. I've never seen saddlebag fringe up close to see how it is attached.
Does anyone know how saddlebag fringe gets attached?

I have genuine Harley fringe. It has a plastic chanel that goes over the guard rails and some velcro

But do you need side rails to attatch the fringe to? Because I don't have side rails, don't want to buy any and don't want them anyways.

You need rails if you have hard bags. If you have soft bags, you can have it sewn on to the bags. If you buy cheap thin/lightweight fringe you will regret it.
