Need quick help making CD's

Hey guys,

I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow and tried for hours yesterday to download music I had saved in Media Player onto CDR's. I followed all the threads I found on here, downloaded as a data file, in MP3 format at 128 speed. Everything seemed to be working fine from the computer end, but none of the CD's will play on the bike.

The bike is an 09 Ultra Classic, and it has the latest software. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Are you using Media Player?

If you are you need to go into options and make sure that you have M3U specified on the Burn tab under Data Discs - Add a list of all burned files.... option. I believe the default is WPL which will not work. I wasted about a dozen discs before i got one that worked.

I burn my MP3 files using the following free software. It will also convert M4P (Apple AAC) files to MP3 format.

http://www.nch.com.au/burn/index.html

Make sure you create a "Data CD" not an "Audio CD". 128 may be to high. I always use 24. The radio on the 09's is great. It displays the ID3 information while the song is playing.

Yes, I was using Media Player and had the M3U option checked. Maybe I'll try the nch.com.

just went thru this with my new rg. also using media player. found i could only get cd's to work when i burnt directly from a playlist im mp. copying files from a folder to the disc wouldn't play on the bike.

Dave,

I'm copying from a play list. I've tried it about 10 times now, and still nothing.

I click on the burn tab, then bring my play list up in the right hand margin. I have about a dozen cd's in that list and they'll all fit on a cd, but the cd doesn't play in the bike.

I can't figure out why this seems to work for most of you guys, but it won't work on my bike.

I was having trouble with the making of the disc but I was not clicking on the DATA DISC,I still had the AUDIO DISC Checked. I just now made me a CD after reading this post and I got alot of tracks on one CD and it is playing as I type, and they all read track, atrist, and song. Very cool and will come in handy on the upcoming trip to the BRP.

Just use any application that will burn data. No playlists, no "audio CD" function, no nothing. Drag 'n drop files and folders and burn it.

Probably a foolish question but they are in MP3 format right? If not you can convert them with Daniusoft MP3 WAV Converter. I wasted a bunch of CD's before I got one to work. Now I have a CD with about 150 songs on it.
