Intermittant high idle and ignition miss
08 RK Stage 1 with VH Fuel Pac. Started developing an intermittent high idle which progressed to a severe ignition miss especially at throttle tip-in. The miss is less noticeable at steady throttle but really significant at wide open acceleration in any gear. Computer set code for rear cylinder misfire. Dealer found the rear o2 sensor to be defective and will replace. How does this set a code for cylinder misfire? Does this seem right? I thought that the o2 sensor was only responsible for fuel/o2 ratios. Does it also control ignition? Why would it cause a severe miss? Will get bike back tomorrow and see if problem solved. Any comments?
