Khromeworks 300515 vs Wild1's 575
 

My knowledge base for the Khromeworks is ONLY from reading - I have the Wild1's 575 on my EG and like them - but I am always looking for the 'better mouse trap'. Actually, I did not even know about the KW until recently - got me to looking.. This is what I have found... Now to get a bike with the KW next to mine so we both and compare side by side..

endrise = 10.83" and 6.02" on the bike - as per picture...
overall width = 34.07
center width = 12"
Pull back = 7.84 and 12.13" on the bike and rotated back - as per picture



Wild1's 575 measurments are

End rise on either bar can be changed by rotation the bars down to YOUR taste..

on paper - they look very close - as stated, I would love to have a bike next to mine so we both could compare...

Biggest difference is KW is 1" and NOT drilled for internal wires - Wild1 is the chubby bars 1.25" and is drilled for internal wires.

I have Khrome Werks bars and like them a lot.

However, they are 1" bars. Much less expensive that WO and for a reason. If WO made a bar like the KW, I'd have the WO bars.

I think you are absolutely right. These bars are probably even more similar than they appear on paper. I believe most handlebar manufactures measure "rise" with the bars parallel to the front forks. That eliminates the difference in end rise caused by rotating the bars forward or down and back. While the rise on the WO575's appears to be 4" greater if you look closely at the drawing you'll find Wild One measures the rise from the top point of the bars and Khrome Werks measures the rise from the tip of the bars. That could easily explain the 4" difference.

The difference I notice is the Khrome Works bars appear to curve up from the risers and the WO575 rise in a straight line. The other differences are obvious. 1 1/4" vs. 1". Internal Wiring vs. external wiring and of course the $70+ vs the $200 price.

My guess is with your eyes closed you couldn't tell much difference between the two. You'll probably get almost the same riding position with either. Are the cosmetics worth almost 3X the price? They were to me. Not a single regret.

until I actually saw a chubby - I really did not think that .25 would be worth the price,,, then I saw one - Like said,,,, "Once you wrap your hands around a 'Chubby', there is no going back"

all a matter of choice - still would like to compare side by side - doing what you suggested - eyes closed

I was only looking for a better riding position, just slightly rearward of stock. I researched all of the bars I could and read all the posts I could find on this forum. Didn't consider internal wiring or the increased diameter to be that big of a deal. Actually ordered them sight unseen..except for pictures on the web. The idea of spending $200 for bars considering it's all you really have to hang onto at 80 mph was never a problem. Once I installed them the appaerance (internal wiring and 1 1/4" diameter were just bonuses.

I like a good deal just like everyone else but never, absolutely never at the expense of quality.

I'm not gonna go there ;)
