Good post. Nope, I haven't seen this. I would be interested in a part number as well once somebody gets one. It's probably the same as the old one. HD must have been tired hearing from the dealers on replacing the broken ones. I hope they put a little engineering in these so that they don't crap out like the others.

I believe the part numbers are:
(Left) 58478-96B, (Right) 58479-96B

The original part had an "a" at the end... At least that's what I remember from another thread on this topic.

Good timing - my 07 Ultra's in the shop right now. One of the issues is - all the upper bracket mounts are broken. Minus the one I modified by pop riveting a stainless L to replace the broken end.
After looking better at the pics I see these are the ones that attach to the speakers.
Broke too!

cool mine broke and are replaced already maybe the latest version will last longer than the 8 months i got out of my first ones

This is the first I have heard of this problem. Just picked up an 09SG this spring and will look out for.

Hey Daily Driver--Nice looking dog. I have two pugs, one male one female--great dogs. Nice looking SG too.
