Default Best way to install fender seat nut

I am looking for the easiest way to install the rear fender seat nut....that is the nut that holds the screw from the back of the passenger seat. someone told me to put a string through the nut and pull it up to the fender..this way you do not have to take off the tire.....

is that the best way?

Same theory but use a plastic zip tie. It is easier to get up to the hole then
string will be.

I used a thin but stiff piece of wire similar to a coat hanger and got it right in there quick no problem. I was told to use a plastic zip tie but got home and didn't have one so I adjusted and improvised with what I had laying around the garage

A piece of fishing line works well too, unless you ahve plastic man like abilities to stretch your arms thin and long.

I know this is an old thread but experienced this problem on our road trip last week after removing my seat to remove an attached seat pad & apparently lost the clip that holds the nut in place but wanted to get the nut back up in there to hold the seat in place for the rest of the trip. Rounded up a small tree twig with a bud near the end which once trimmed to the perfect length was able to hold the nut up in place while my buddy installed the seat & then the mntg screw. Held together for the rest of the trip & now once back home, used the cable tie trick to hold the nut in place while installing the e-clip. Great information here for a small problem.

Thanks all!
