Default washington dc motel ???

i have a chance to go to d.c. this weekend (7/17) and was wondering if anyone could suggest a less expensive motel w/ parking and either close enough to walk to the memorials or real close to the metro rail thingy. i will be riding in from I70/I270. i would like a relatively safe place to park the scooter.
thanks for any help

edit:
going with the econo lodge in arlington

thanks

Let me know how your trip was we are heading down the following weekend, was thinking of staying outside of the city to cut down on cost either in MD or VA
Tried the link above and got nothing but it might be blocked here at work will try from home.

Crystal city will be very expensive to stay. Look for the west side of town, say Falls church or thereby. Nothing will be close enought to walk to the memorials unless you stay across from the White House and that is $$$$$. We have stayed at the Red Roof in Oxon Hill Md during Rolling Thunder about $85 per night but no metro nearby that we'd trust to leave the scooter.

Good luck

We stayed in the downtown area a few years ago. I thought it was great! One block to the Metro rail station. We walked to many of the attractions, White House etc. Took the Metro to Arlington. Metro is the best way to get around! Excellent transit system! For a country boy I was very sceptical but we had a really nice, safe visit to DC.

When I attended National Police Week with the Blue Knights, in DC, in '02, '03 and '04 we would always stay at the Quality Governors Inn, 6650 Arlington Blvd. (US 50), in nearby Falls Church, VA. During those days, we paid something like $90 per night and there was a Metro station nearby. It's been a while since I've been there, so you might call them at 703-532-8900 if you're interested. Good luck fighting that D.C. traffic! Hope this helps.

Red Roof Inn in China Town is right next to the metro and a nice place to stay. As for parking and close to the metro, you can't beat LeFante Plaza, but it's pricey. I've stayed in both.

Wherever you go try to get a ground floor room that's handicap accessible. Push your bike in and sleep or sightsee without worrying about it.

Don't ask me how I know.
