Anyone know of a place to view the install sheets that come with the HD accessories? Kury, Ness, Cobra and other vendors usually have the pdf version install sheets available for most of their products.
Reason being, going to be swapping the Sundowner seat and adjustable rider backrest for a Mustang solo seat. Shop manual naturally doesn't cover the backrest. It'd be nice to see how it goes together. Specifically, when I take the nuts off the bracket, will the threaded bolts fall through the fender, or are they studs and will stay in place?
That would be very handy to have an online resource with H-D instruction sheets in PDF format. In fact, I'd like to look up some instructions for accessories that were already mounted on my bike when I bought it. (Just in case I decide to re-wire them, or whatever.) Unfortunately, I don't think there is any official site where you can get those instruction sheets. Not that I've heard of anyway.
Try using google with the part number you want to install. I found a site recently that had a lot of the instructions posted as pdf documents. I'm at work and don't have access to my favorites or I'd give you the link. You should be able to find it though. If no one has an answer I'll check when I get home tonight.
H-D dealers have a site for their stuff, I recently bought something from them and when I opened the box the instructions were missing. I went back to the dealer & he went online and printed out the instructions for me.
I have asked various dealers to print out instructions for accessories I was evaluating for purchase and always have been given printouts just for the asking.
I had the same issue with the backrest! Two folks here were kind enough to scan and email the instructions. Send me a pm with your email and I'll find em on my puter and send off to you!
