Adjusting 2006 FLHP Handlebars
I'm looking for some help and/or advice on adjusting the handlebars on my 2006 FLHP. I find that I get a lot of neck and shoulder pain on rides longer than an hour. I've tried moving the bars forward and backward, but i can't seem to find a comfortable position. I believe the bars on the FLHP are the same as on a Heritage Softtail; not a stock Road King. I know how to make the physical adjustment. What I'm looking for is help or advice on how to establish the proper position of the bars; forward, backward, etc.?
I'm also toying with the idea of changing the bars. Harley has something called a Touring Handlebar for the 2006 Road King. Other than looking a bit lower, they look like the bars I already have. Would changing to 13" apes help? I'm 5'9" with a 32" sleeve.
I tried to find information in old posts, but couldn't find anything on assessing position. My apologies if this topic has been covered.
