Default Need to lower my new 1013 ultra but wanna do it right..

I would like to lower my ultra classic at least 1 inch but want to do it the right way, so should I lower both rear and front? and how should I go about it, I know I do not want to use those lowering blocks.. I am willing to spend the money to do it right, what options do I have??

A number of ways around that. One is simply to wear sturdy thick-heeled riding boots, to get a little extra reach and a secure footing. Another is either to swap seats, or get yours remodelled to improve your reach. Neither of those will break the bank, but could get what you are after.

There are many shorter shocks out there, but one stands out: custom-built shorter Ohlins from HDF sponsor Howard of Motorcycle Metal. You will get a slight reduction in seat height, plus improved ride quality. Too good to pass over!

All three of the above should find you in Nirvana!!!

A 1013 Ultra. Must be the model with the wooden spoke wheels and has the two oxen powered engine.
Anyway, Progressive makes the monoshock in various lengths and as mentioned in a previous thread, shorter shocks.

If you want to get pricey about it, Fat Baggers Inc. (FBI) makes a drop seat kit that sits the seat about 3 inches lower.

12" shocks from a street glide and progressive monotubes with a 1" drop. That's the setup I used and couldn't be happier with the monotubes. Huge difference in the front suspension.

MeanCity Cycle lowered and narrowed my stock seat a cpl inchs each.
They also added some memory foam . This MOD was Super thrifty ,way cheaper than a new low seat ,just under $150 including shipping both ways.

I had a cobler add some thickness to sole and heal of my riding boots .

I have Bitchen bagger drop shocks.

If your spending the $ get rid of the air shock set up and get suspension that will improve the ride and handling. For the rear get a quality set of rear shocks in either 11.5 or 12" look into Ohlins 2 or 3 series from Motorcycle Metal, Progressive 944 or 444, Works or Terry cable for the front at this time the best options you have are Progressive Monotubes

Default Go Hydraulic - Do it right the first time

all joking aside this is the latest suspension that yes is expensive, but in life you do get what you pay for. Service is second to none and let me tell you it will drop you automatically 2.5 inches!
