I just purchased a new Ultra Electra Glide. I know I need to change the exhaust. A young man in the service dept. suggested I put 1000miles on bring it in for the 1000 mile service. At that time replace stock pipes with either Vance and Hines (his first choice) or Screaming Eagles. Change the air cleaner (stage one) and dyna tune.

Any thoughts on this?

I did just that ,SE-A/C, SE-Race Tuner, S&S Ovals and added 10.08 of torque after Dyno.

 

1000 miles? I thought they said 100 miles. LOL I also bought the 06 Ultra and after riding the bike for only about 100 miles I changed out the exhaust as the factory is just too quiet. I now have the V&H Big Shot Duals and love them. Beautiful finish. Excellent fit. Sound fantastic.

 

Why wait? I rode my bike for one day before I switched out the pipes!

 

I know I didn't wait.

 

Changed mine at 200 miles
