E3's are on!

Spent Saturday morning getting the wheels off the bike and to the indy to get mounted. The indy didn't want to mount them, He said "you can't put those on a touring bike!" I said "why not , they have the same weight rating and from what I read on the net our the hot tire now" He looked at the rating and agreed but still warned me they would only last 5k.
Really do notice a better ride on these things, went on a 100 mile ride yesterday. The wife and I headed for the coast late yesterday afternoon an thought it would be a good twisty ride to scrub them in and after the 1st 50 miles or so I could really start feeling a difference with the tires starting to work better and better.
I also found another great use for are car lift. :icon_playing:
Probaly me but it does look a little wider. I got the MT90 front and MU90 rear.

So doing the math:
Jake Wilson E3's to my door: $191.
Indy tire install: $68.
Rear brakes: $35.
Fresh Amsoil in all 3 holes and filter: $80.
Plugs: $10.

Completes my 10 K service for $384.

Your going to love the E3's. I just replaced mine and got 25k out of this last set. I could have used the front for a while longer, but with a bit of cupping and getting close to the wear bars I figured "what the heck" and changed both.
Your mileage will depend on your riding style mostly. Watch your pressures closely and you'll be fine. Also when you get 5k on them, go back to the indy and show him how they still look barely worn!

+1 on the pressures,
and stop by at 10k as well and ask him what he thinks now....
truth be told, most folks think you NEED that H-D on the side of the tire...... you don't

Sounds a lot like dealer BS... :icon_really: Might be time to find a new Indy.

Did the same thing on Saturday and also got mine from Jake Wilson. That has got to be the fastest free shipping I have ever experienced. Order on Tuesday night and sitting on my door in Tampa Thursday morning. Mine was a total of $250.98 though because I went with the 160/80B-16 (80H) Dunlop Elite 3 for the rear instead of the MU85. A little wider and still fits. I had my indy do all the work for a whopping $100.00 so total was $351.00 for everything. I did get 13K miles out of the OEMs but they were almost slicks.
