There you have it.Now if you ask why the color Black is named "Black" You are on your own....:-)
When I bought my bike, there was Black and Vivid Black. I think plain black was called "standard" or something like that. Regular black had gold pin stripes and Vivid Black had red pin stripes. Price difference: $200.
I thought black was just black until I brought my front fender to a friend of
mine for paint. He's a professional painter and when he asked me what color black
my RK was,I thought for sure he was jerking me,but then he rattled off several
different shades of black. Turns out that Vivid Black is an actual color and a pure
black, not a variation of black. So black isn't always just black.
I was taught in art class, many, many years ago that black and white are not colors. They are the absence of colors! Whatever that means, I love my 2009 vivid black FLHP. Now if I could only find a way to keep it from showing dust!! I have had black cherry, birch white, and white, but I still prefer the vivid black. I guess I am still old school where I believe all Harleys should be black and chrome. I really don't care for the blacked out bikes, but to each his own. The bottom line-all Harleys are good looking!
