.....................and Texas- "I just don't get lowering a bike for looks, but then that's just me"? you have a street glide in your sig. the street glide is lowered 1", for looks.
I know that, but that is not why I bought the Street Glide. I bought it for the clean looks (no fender or saddle bag trim).
I may even put 13" shocks on someday, if the wife ever decides to ride with me two up.
This one turned out more interesting that I originally thought. I'm with GJA on the Down syndrome issue and the Special Olympics. I've volunteered at them for years, and it's extremely rewarding to watch these very special spirits participate in the events. I think God has a very deep and abiding love for these souls, and they will be significantly blessed on the other side to make up for the challenges they've endured here. Just my thoughts.
I also tried the lowering kit. Harsh ride. Invested in low profile shocks as i was advised by a kind gentleman from this site and it worked wonders. Lowering kit off and low pros in orginal holes.

i have arnott also and can't complain a bit!!
i also installed one of these on a customers bike (a short guy) with 1" lowered shocks on a ultra and he rides 2 up with his girl and hasn't had a problem at all but it is on the second hole.

thanks for the opinion, but you should read the post more carefully. the installation was retard proof.
there are many, many people who do the 3" with no problems
also, this mod will not fit leather covered RKC bags.
You might want to listen to the warnings about bottoming out. I bought the same kit from Road 6 Customs off ebay about eight months ago for my 09 EGC. He didn't recommend using the lowest setting because of possible bottoming out. I put mine in the second hole...2inches lower. worked well until I noticed my shock has been rubbing the hard bags a little. I moved mine to the front hole. seems ok now. I ride 2 up most of the time.
just my 2c.
Sorry to be a downer, but this is very uncool. My daughter has downs and is an athlete in Special Olympics. Maybe people should volunteer at their local games to see just how much these kids get out of S.O.....just saying!!
Why are you sorry? You should be pissed!! You have nothing to be sorry for.
3 inch drop gives ya about 1/2" of clearance. Tell us how retard proof it is when ya bottom out & the tire slams the fender & tears up the wire harness.
Been there done that!!!!! Keep it in the second setting and run plenty of air in the rear shocks and you will be fine as long as you avoid big pot holes. I had to replace the rear wiring harness three months after installing.
