Default Stereo Power Question!!!!!!

Is there any additional power/ power source needed to run the fairing's radio unit and amp? I noticed my radio light dimming when I turn it up...(I'm not running an amp) I have a 00RK.

Shouldn't be necessary. Not sure how yours is wired, but mine has a 12ga wire directly from the battery to the fairing and then the switched signal wire is tapped into a switched circuit so it knows when the ignition is on or in accessory.

I have seen head units that do dim with the music though, especially when turned up and there is a lot of bass in the music. Haven't noticed mine doing that, but I'm running an ARC amp too. 07 RK

Thx. It might be my wiring, since you mentioned it. I just might re-wire it during the winter.

definately double check your wiring, any slightly loose connections would cause this. Also, check your charging system and battery condition. With the radio dimming at high volume or load that means that there is not enough power going to the radio to handle it.
