Default Check engine & battery ligt on

Went to get a coffee at DD today and saw the check engine and battery light on.
When I got back home I shut it down and checked the battery voltage.
It was at 12.25. Not good right? Should be up by 13 or so correct?
Im looking for procedures to check the Stator/alternator/voltage regulator but not even sure which part is which! lol
Can someone tell me what these numbers are in the pic please? I know #3 is the starter but what about #1 & #2?
And of the course the voltage regulator is up in front of the oil filter right?
I mean maybe its just the battery. Could it be the original?
The bike is a 2005 UC flhtcui
When I start it up and put my volt meter accross the battery posts it still only reads in the lower 12s.
How do I determine what part is shot?
I need help guys, THANKS! lol
Pete
Ive got a tender on it now to try and bring up the charge a bit.

If your picture of the 1,2,3 is supposed to be figuring out which is the stator and which is the voltage regulator, you're not close. The voltage regulator is at the front of the bike at the bottom of the downtubes. The stator is inside (behind) the primary housing. Do you have a multimeter where you can test the plug at the stator, voltage regulator and whatnot?

HERE's a good detailed way to check some things out with a lack of a manual to show you.

Ill check things out and report back bro!
Thanks
Pete

But even IF the battery was dead I should still have 14 or so volts across the battery with the engine on right?
Provided of course the other parts were ok...

With the engine running you should have more than 12 volts at the battery.Use the procedure Dawg supplied to in down the problem.

I sent Dawg a PM.
Kind of confused where the regulator actually plugs into the stator!
I need to get me a service manual. Had the bike about 4 months now.
Took it to the Keys a while back and everything ran sweet.
I'll get it...

Hoss,

What I wrote is:
"I mean maybe its just the battery. Could it be the original?
