I just traded my zeppelin seat to a guy in iowa for his stock ultra seat.I know i took a loss on that, but i couldnt ride my bike with that big seat on it and with the stock one i can.I never used the air bladder buttons. He emails me saying the air pump turns on but never turns off, that "somebody" had the service door open on it and he is going to take to the harley dealer and see what they say.He still owes me $28.00 in shipping i will never get now probably.Even without the air pump working properly its a lot more seat than a stocker, and i would never cheat someone.Do any of you know anything about this service door or the seat?

Reason: spelling
There are stickers on the bottom of the seat where you can gain access to where the pump is. It states warranty voided if stickers are removed. That is probably what he's talking about. If the pump continually runs there is either a leak in the bladder or tubing inside the seat or an issue with the pump itself. The seat is manufactured by Milsco and that is where HD would send it out if it needed repair.

When I first installed my zep, the pump ran for a very long time. I thought mine wasn't going to turn off, so I would just turn it off at the switch (seat was on an ultra classic). Of course, one day I forgot to turn it off. Eventually it did turn itself off. I assumed that it took a long time for the air pump to build up enough pressure to fill everything up and switch itself off. After that initial time, it switched on and off more like I expected it to.
If the seat has been sitting unused for a while, it is possible that your (his) seat is just taking a very long time to pressurize like mine did and that if he leaves it alone it may eventually turn off also (or, of course, it could be a bad pump/pressure switch).
I'm certainly no expert, but thought I would tell you how it worked out with mine.
The RZ has an air tank that takes a few minutes to fill. When you use the adjuster buttons the air comes from the tank. I would take it apart and repair the leak, if it has a leak.
