Default 2001 Tourpak, Fiberglass or plastic?

Im modifying a tourpak to hold some custom lights. Initially I thought it was made of fiberglass, but after cutting on it, I think it might be plastic. Anyone know what these are made of and any products that would bond fiberglass to plastic, if this is the case?

They are plastic now, likewise the lowers and fairings if so-equipped. Can't help ya with what adhesivs would be best, but I've seen folks post good info in the past so hang in there.

If its grey inside its fiberglass, if its black inside its ABS plastic. Autobody paint supply house should be able to set you up with products for either!

My 03 Ultra has glass bags & tour pack, at some point these guys went to an ABS type material. It is harder to repair the ABS and the materials are fairly expensive (at least the ones that work). Go to good auto body supply store.

Hate to cause conflict, but my 2001 FLHTC had some type of plastic bags.

My 03 had been in an accident (not totaled) so the bags that were on it may/probably aren't the original, they are however factory in that they have HD paint and 03 stripes. It seams that somewhere around 01-04 they came with both types. I do know the glass bags are easier to repair and work somewhat better if you are putting extensions on the bottom than the ABS ones are. My experience has been that you have to really "scuff" the ABS to get any type of glue/filler to adhere to it. You will see the strains (when you get thru the gel coat)of glass cloth when you start working with them if they are glass bags/tour pack.
