Yeah, I said it.....I have officially left the Sharknose underground....

My new bike is in the making now. All the rep has to do is verify that he can get his hands on one of the 4 Electra Glide Ultra Classics in Vivid Black that he found on the locator today. I can hardly believe it myself....

Frankly, I gave up a tad of high speed comfort for style and resale value. After being told by 2, not 1 but 2 different dealerships this past weekend that my RG would pale in trade in value compared to a similarly equipped EG, I decided to cross over to the batwing.

It will be an '06. After talking it over with the rep, all things considered, this was the best option for everyone involved. I get a new bike, a nicer bike than I have, in a reasonable time frame, with money to replace all my accessories. Not a perfect scenario, but pretty darn good. It will hopefully be delivered to Foster HD this week. I hope so, I might get most of my break in done this weekend!

Good for you, I had a road glide and it paled in comparison to the mighty ultra classic. They don't call it a ultra for nothin.

 

I actually told the rep that the Classic would be fine....none of those to be found. Had to "Settle" for the Ultra....

They couldn't find a '06 FLTRI in Vivid Black. I hope you like the Ultra..........it's a nice bike and the most popular touring model....and they make more of 'em for that reason. But you'll come back to "the fold" on your next one.........glad all was worked out and you didn't get stiffed.

Yes, actually they could find a FLTRI in Black. I just did not want one considering the low trade in value. The rep said, "Get whatever you want" So I decided to get the next best thing to a SE....

Admittedly, the Ultra is the top seller of the touring class bikes. The Classics are rarely ordered due to the 1500.00 difference.......usually they are special orders so are rarely a stock bike. RoadGlides sell pretty well here in Oklahoma and they are the tour bike of choice in Colorado in the HD fraternity.....so I'm told by some Coloradans who admired mine.
You'll enjoy the tunes through the headset if you decide to wear a helmet that will accept the speakers. Are you going to be able to remove some of your accessories and transfer them to the Ultra?
