I have the spun aluminium one and it is a total waste of money. I cant advise you strongly enough not to get it.
It looks great when you are stopped but when you really need it you just can not look at it because you dont have time to take your eyes off the road to look at it. It is a long way down.
I wear a full face most of the time when I am riding hard, and there is no way I can look down and see it. Even with my open face its still useless when riding hard.
If you just want to see how fast the motor is turning in 6th on the interstate then its ok, but thats not really what tachos are for now, is it!!
I bought a shift light for 1/5 the cost of the speedo tach and it is brilliant, I mounted it on a bracket on one of the windscreen bolts and set it to come on 150 revs before the limiter and bobs your uncle. If I had my time again I would just buy the shift light and save the money for beer.

I do agree with you that the combo unit is hard to see when riding hard but the sole purpose of getting a tach is not to use it as a shift light but to establish a reference which over a course of time, I will learn what rpm the engine is without looking at the guage as much. Besides, I am more concerned with lugging the engine more than over reving

Opinoins and Insight
Gentlemen, I am riding a 2009 Electra Glide Classic. Buddy if mine was going to pass off a set of gauges to me with the white face and chrome bezels. I dont have PN on all but the fuel gauge PN is A2C53259198/ 75168-08. All gauges work except that one in fact and im assuming the gauge is bad since my stock one doesnt dance around. I also noticed that the white faced Speedo does not indicate when im in sixth gear, leading me to believe this is pre 6spd xmsn. I am a fan of things working as they should, EXACTLY as they should, does anyone know if there is any underlying issue regarding the use of the older gauges vs something i KNOW is for my bike. I love the way the gauges look but not willing to sacrifice function for show.
