accel's self learning module????
has anybody heard/or know of someone that has used the new accel slm. just wondering what people think about it, or experiences with it. i know its pretty new so not sure how many have had a chance to use it
|
I was wondering the same thing. I just saw it today on DennisKirk, looks kind of like a repackaged TV3.
|
Do a search
|
i was thinking the same exact thing , about it being a repacked tv3. but you would think being an accel product it would be a quality product. they are certainly charge as tho it is. and yes thanks for the obvious advice of doing a internet search, im wanting to know if anybody on the forums has had a chance to use it first hand.

I am just about ready to bite the bullet and give it a try.
For more information: http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2009/06...-plug-and-ride I have a 2008 FLHT and am in the process of assembling the engine; crankshaft up. I was considering the Thundermax, but it is still 45 days out (been this way for 5 months). I have considered Harleys race tuner, but being the pessimist, unsure I’d get a good tune since basically the engine is lacking harley parts. The Power Commander is out because I wish to maintain the closed loop. |

Yes, the Super Tuner is a very good product. But a dyno tune is only as good as the tuner running the dyno. Hypothetically, I may not get as much attention as a customer, which replaced all parts using Harley parts and had the service department perform the work.
Not saying the local Harley shop is inept. When I have had conversations, very knowledgeable and patient. I was going to have the shop perform the work. I preferred the Andrews 54 hg gear cam setup. They would not stand behind any failures and I decided to do the assembly myself. |
i would call accel a talk to someone first, just to see if it will handle all the engine mods you have made. it seems like i read where its really only suited for minor changes like breather/exhuast/ and mild cam changes. thats why i went ahead the purchase of the thunder max setup. plus the slm is such a new product, really hasnt been road proven yet! if you do talk to them hopefully, keep us updated.

Yes, the Accel unit is based on the Terry Components product. The design of this product will only allow adjustments within the closed loop area to within the same threshold of the stock NB sensors, which means it can only make changes below approx 70 KPA where the sensors are switching. What this means is it cannot make any adjustments in the upper RPM's and throttle positions, the unit is not adjustable, you cannot adjust ignition timing, and there is no way to know the actual changes it is making

We get paid to do the best job we can with what you HAVE. Talk to the SERVICE WRITER and ask him who HE would have tune HIS bike and get that guy to do it. |
