I just installed the ARC amp and yes I ran mine right to the battery on the bike. Wayne is the one that told me to run both to the battery. No issues with sound.
I plan on using 10AWG wire all the way around for the Arc 125.2 amp power. Since the runs are shorter than 7', 10AWG is acceptable. 7'-15' should be 8AWG, and longer than 15' should be 4AWG.
