Tour-Pak rack bag........over-weight and over-kill?

I'm shopping for a King Tour-Pak rack bag. Several I've seen look like they are a good candidate for over-loading the tour-pak and asking for a cracked lid. I'm not sure about the load capacity of a King Tour-Pak lid but I guess 25 lbs max. I don't think it would make any difference which rack you have, the capacity would be the same right?

Doesn't this tour-pak rack bag look way to large? Some would be very prone to over load this large of a bag. What do you think? It does look like there's a rack under it.

Just remember that most of those big bags block what you see in your mirrors.
I like the HD expandable bag 91753-92 http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
It lays flat in the bottom of your tour pak when you don't need it.
It expands for those larger loads.

It is VERY easy to overload the rack!

The weight limit for Everything inside the Tour-Pak and on the lid is 25 lbs
The limit for the rack is 10 lbs

From the Premium Tour-Pak® Luggage Rack pn. 53665-87 instructions!

See the Accessory and Cargo section in your Owner's
Manual. Improper loading of cargo or installation of
accessories can affect motorcycle stability and handling,
which could result in death or serious injury. (00021a)
NOTE
Maximum luggage rack weight capacity is ten pounds (4.5 Kg).
Do not exceed luggage rack weight capacity. Too much
weight can cause loss of control, which could result in
death or serious injury. (00373a)
NOTE
Combined load of top rack and Tour-Pak® must not exceed
25 lbs (11.3 Kg). Overloading the motorcycle will cause
unstable handling and reduced braking efficiency, which could
result in death or serious injury.
Do not exceed tour-pak weight capacity.Too much weight
can cause loss of control, which could result in death or
serious injury. (00401b)
• Be sure top rack cargo is secure and will not shift while
riding. Recheck load periodically.
• An item with a large surface area, such as a duffel bag,
that is installed on the top rack can adversely affect vehicle
handling.

That's the one I use. the wife gets the one inside the TP, and I use this one. I can pack for a week easy and still haul home new shirts from where I've been. :icon_dance-tap: :icon_headbang:

I have this bag and would not go any bigger,

T-Bags

This is listed as a "Medium Bag", on their website,

I really think it is a little to much,

Damn Dane where you going???...Lookin at your bike in your sig your set up for solo....Let me not be one to tell you to pack light but contrary to what others might say i find the tour pac to be a wind catcher and adding anything else large on top you might find cumbersome...You might start small and work your way up.Good luck in you search!

It is actually very light, surprisingly so,
